Digital Initiatives Coordinator

The Portland State University Library has a new Digital Initiatives Coordinator, Karen Bjork, who comes to PSU from North Dakota State University.

In this role, Karen will provide leadership, project management, and work in the creation, development, and production services of digital content associated with the Digital Repository and related projects.

Her goal for the Digital Repository is to raise awareness and encourage researchers to integrate the Digital Repository into their scholarly process. [Karen says,] "I want to get the repository into the larger consciousness of the institution so that our scholars consider it a valuable part of the University's intellectual fabric."

Karen will be assisted by David Coate, a cataloging and authority control specialist. David has moved into the newly created position of Digital Collections Technician and will work in collaboration with Karen to grow and develop the Digital Repository.

The University Library has also established a new Digital Initiatives Advisory Committee to oversee the creation of policies and best practices for the long-term development of and access to digital collections objects.

The Portland State University Digital Repository welcomes submissions from the PSU community of faculty, scholars and researchers. If you are interested in submitting content to the repository, please contact Karen Bjork for information or assistance.
